Nifty Writing Quote

In the April 23, 2007 Newsweek (Yes, I'm very behind), in an interview with Donald Westlake and John Banville, Banville said, about being unable to answer questions about topics he's written about in his books,
"...I say, 'Look, I can write about it, but I don't know about it.' And she cannot understand that! I tell her, "We concentrate on something deeply enough to make it lifelike, but it's all to do with the concentration and the imagination, it's nothing to do with experience..."
So much for writing what you know. ;)
